Default Question to IFO racers..

Do you have a lot of domestics showing up at your IFO events around the country to race? I am seeing post on a local forum where a bunch of domestic guys are talking about coming out and racing..does this type of thing only happen in Ohio? Also does it irritate you as much as it does me that domestics such as Mustangs, Camaros and Vettes show up to import events to TNT?

I just dont see the reasoning behind it as you wouldnt see a Honda/Acura racing at a Super Chevy event lol

Just curious

I attend most of the midwest IFO events and I dont see any domestics racing unless its a 4 cylinder neon or a colbalt. they are usually in the car shows. I do see a few bad *** V8's come out to and just do shakedown passes during the race event.

Hmm, idk maybe its just a pet peeve of mine lol. I just feel that the time they are taking by TNT or Bracket racing could go to imports getting in more runs. I know here in Ohio we have 1 (now 2) dates that are focused on imports and Honda/Acura friendly. There is the DSM shootout as well but thats DSM stuff ya know

I'm fine with it, as long as they don't break and make a mess of the track. I go to local domestic events occasionally to test and tune. Racing is racing, I respect all fast cars, and expect the same in return..

Going fast is going fast man. I go and do TnT at domestic events all the time because let's face it....there are a lot more domestic events than import events.

hater much? Why would you complain about domestics running non-competition TnT passes? Especially at the OHIO event where that bad *** orange street Corvette runs 8s ever year!

How am I hating? Hating would be saying "**** V8s", I am not the only one that feels this way just the only one that will voice an opinion about it. As for that vette, thats a different story in its self as he is in the process of a new build and shooting for 6.99s lol. It's definitley a bad *** car so no **** talking from my mouth about it.

Jamie should come in the supra but last I heard he no longer lives here in Ohio? I personally enjoy watching his supra run the most out of any other car I have seen at an IFO event. Although the Ohio Boys T/As doing shake down passes were pretty cool last year, wait I can't say that, I am a hater of v8s!

Secondly I was just asking if all the other IFO's had the same amount of turnout with domestics, pretty simple question I thought. FWIW I grew up around v8's, I actuall converted my dad to the dark side (imports) and got him back into racing, so I know both sides of it. I just don't like seeing a bunch of domestics at an import event, its kinda like jacked up trucks going to a lowrider show, idk whatever...

Fear not though, my hating *** will be in attendance along with the other 90 or so people I have organized a cruise with at both Ohio events...

most of the time we have a few in texas and we support them because they arnt hurting any thing, if your really in to racing you will make friends from both sides of the fences, because in all reality were all car people and if you dont enjoy all cars racing you prob not really a racer at hart ......... except for the rotary, no one likes them lol

Wish they could race with us! More competition and makes things fun. honestly I think the crowds like seeing a import beat a domestic on the top end. Its a crowd pleaser.

Pass this on to Cliff at IFO, would you? I tried to get him to let us run our Mustangs (with an import 4 cyl. motor) in a couple IFO classes. If nothing else it would give the kids in the stands someone to root against. LOL

My opinion of it is this - the more the merrier. I don't care what side of the fence you're on, we're all out there for one thing, to race.

My opinion though, has no weight and I don't mind that.

I guess the import specific events are just that, but we always have to TnT with the locals and put it this way, you can typically count the imports racing at any event here on 1 hand...
