Creaking when turning
I have a creaking noise that comes from the front of my car when I turn. I was told it is my rack and pinion by a guy up at a tire shop. I also heard it could be my strut bar? Well I am buying Upper Control Arms /w Ball Joints, Inner and outer tie rod ends, sway bar link kits, rack and pinion and lower control arms, any thing else you can think of I need.
If the vehicle makes a "ratcheting" noise when you steer, like a rotating, grinding noise, then it's probably one or both of your CV joints. I had this problem, and solved it by buying remanufactured ones. It's a fairly common problem, actually.
No, I am buying a new rack and pinion, and new cv joints. I got my tie rods, ball joints and upper control arms put in, and still a creaking sound. I couldnt allign it because my old rack and pinion was almost shot
i have the same issue with a four door i just bought, but no one seems to know what it is exactly. did you replace rack and pinion yet? is noise still there? i am a 45 yr old mom working with my son to diagnose my 93 civic four door.
