Default Tension on the alternator belt?

I need help fellers!

Ok, quick question. How do I know and measure how much tension I need to put on my alternator belt?

Either push on it with your hand and use your body weight or use a long screw driver and pry on it then tighten it. If it's not tightened enough it'll let you know by squeaking........and dude your profile name is killin' me. Thumbs up

A 2-3 ft long pry bar or extension is all you need to get some leverage and tighten it.

You can check the deflection but its not really that sensitive. Just as long as it doesn't squeel, like he said.

In the manual it says if you put 10 lbs of pressure it should deflect 1/4 of an inch. So just dont do so it sags or herra tight.
