Climate Controls
Alright my friend has a 1996 Honda Civic Sedan. Now he was just recently broken into, and they tore apart most of his dash (Cluster, Climate Controls, Deck). So seeing as his car is already apart, he was wondering what it would take to convert his climate controls from the 1996 - 1998 slider control unit, to the 1999 - 2000 dial control unit. You help would be appriciated.
bah..i answered your post in CivicHatchback.com

Basically you need everything that is behind the climate control. The 96-98 is mechanical and the 99-00 is electronic. It's not an easy change over.
if the main reason is thta you want amber, why not do this. (96-98 US with amber..not my car, but i did the same thing instead with a nice amber alpine deck)
but if you want the 99-00 climate *****...that's another story. i still believe ttrying to find a 98 spec civic type r climate control (radio is on the right and the little coin holder thing is on the left and has a cover that says "Civic Type R") is a lot easier than converting to 99-00.
