Newb with a 2006 SI
Hey I'm new to the forum as well as Honda. I drive a 2006 SI that is stock. Don't really have any plans for it either since it is my daily. Maybe some suspension and wheels in the future. Hope to learn a few things from the forum. Especially some tips on the oil change. Worst oil filter placement ever.

But there is a lot of information on this forum. A lot of people with knowledge, use it to your advantage.
Good luck to you.
Welcome. Yup, oil filter location on the K-Series is a pain. Just take it to the dealership service department. By the time you buy the oil, the filter, and the crush washer, ...you're just a few more dollars away from just having most dealerships do it for you.

You get used to the location after a while. It's easiest to work on when you remove the passenger side wheel. I usually rotate the tires at the same time, so my wheels are already off of the front. Then, I reach in there and put a plastic bag (or double it up) around the filter and try to work off the filter while keeping the bag in place. I usually still make a mess, but have gotten better at it. I've also read about people using the top half of a milk gallon to catch the extra oil run-off, as well.
I just wouldn't want to pay someone to do the job and I like putting in whatever kind of oil/filter I want to.
