Default d16 timing guestion

I am wondering how to set my cam in tdc without a timing cover. The book says to set the notch in the gear with the arrow on the cover but I threw mine away because it was all cracked and looked like poo.

No the cam. The cam gear has three lines and the word top. I know how to set the crank it has a arrow on the oil pump but there are no marks on the head

There is no notch on the timing cover for the cam gear, there IS a notch for the crank pulley.

OEM pulley?

The TOP part needs to be at 90*

That's how I did mine, only mine says up.

Top mark pointing straight up.

But really, timing covers aren't the expensive, just get a new one.
