Default Random loom plug

I'm just going through the rather long process of stripping my wiring loom of all the things I don't need. Anyway what the heck are these plugs in the loom that don't look like any other Honda plugs and are clear taped to the loom. The plugs are also blocked off too. I traced one of the wires all the way back to the plug of one of the tail lights. I don't think the plug is doing anything but it's very hard to know for sure.

I've seen them in looms before. In the middle of a bit of loom and taped up with clear tape. The ends (for where the pins would plug into something) are block off (but you can unblock them). The wires go in all sorts of directions to all sorts of different places. When I first saw it, i figured i'd cut it out but now that i've found the wires dont just go to the fuse box but to all sorts of different things, its confusing now.

Is it some sort of diagnostic plug for checking the wiring loom?

If that plug was near the ECU, I think it's used for for wiring in different interior wire harnesses (sedan, hatch, coupe)
Example: the O2 sensor wires for the secondary O2 sensor run under the floor and out of the bottom of the car in D16Y8 models instead of exiting the wire harness near the distributor on D16Y7/5 models
The different trim levels use virtually the same harnesses; the plugs are for additions different between the models, I believe.

It maybe for different accessories. That's what i'm thinking as well. Like you said it went to the tail light. I was thinking it could just be a plug for if a spoiler were installed. Or maybe a different accessory available for JDM models. Cause you did say it was JDM.

Those plugs exist even in the USDM cars. I believe they are just common junction points for similar wires (IE rather than crimping like 8 wires together they used a special splice. I found 2 or 3 of them up near the fuse panel in a 94 or 95 coupe.

Yeah I think you're the closest so far. There is one on the main central part of the loom near the interior fuse box and another on the cluster loom part.

I'm going to pull out a multimeter and see if the wires are joining together at all - it'll be interesting.

Car is a JDM VTI which came with a 3 stage Vtec. Car was overall pretty basic spec with basic interior, small brakes etc.
