Hey guys,

i'm new to the s2000 game. I personally wasn't going to purchase one until next year because I have 5 weddings to go to this year. However, when I saw this deal, I couldn't look away. Please let me know if this is a good deal, and how serious the issues are. Thanks in advance!

The bad: car needs some TLC.

It is currently uninspected because of a CEL, Honda dealership tells me it's the air pump for emissions.

Rear bumper plug is missing

Some paint scrapes on lower front bumper

Needs alignment

top leaks on passenger side by windshield

the good:

good tires
new brakes and slotted and drilled rotors
newer top
bone stock never molested
adult owned and driven

 

1. Be careful whenever you pick up a car - they are heavy.

2. What does having to attend a few weddings got to do with buying your car?

3. You say it's bone stock, never molested, but someone has 'upgraded' the brakes with slotted and drilled?? Sounds like it may have been returned to stock?

4. Price - i don't know.

 

That's not that great of a deal IMO. I wouldn't buy it myself...

 

Keep looking....I just went on craigslist in my area and there are 5 that are between $8000-$10,500 that dont need tlc. All were around the same mileage too.

 

thanks for the heads up. been emailing the guy, and he seems kinda like a douche anyways.

all his emails have been one liners. doesn't seem enthusiastic about selling it at all.

ill just keep looking.

 

I put money aside for weddings that me and the wife have to attend to this yr. 2 of them require plane tickets. the other 2 require long distant driving and hotel rooms. 1 is here in philly, but we are still required to put money down for the table. I wasn't looking to dip into the wedding money, but if there was a steal of a deal, I would have. the wife understands that I have been looking for a car, and we came to an agreement that I would be able to dip IF the deal was good enough.

but, as of right now...doesn't look like ill be dipping any time soon. ill keep looking.

 

look around on the marketplace here, some great clean cars.

 

trust me...i check all the places around twice a week for the heck of it. lol

but as liquid has already mentioned, there are quite a few decent priced s2000 in VA. I already did search, and it doesn't seem like there will be a rush to buy one anytime soon. Ill start my search again by the end of this year to do a real thorough search.

just remember this car isnt made anymore so the good ones are only going to go up in price

definitely true the only car that i have owned that has been going up and price , all the decent AP1's I keep seeing in orange county seem to be going for 10000
