H22A Oil Pump Changing Questions
With the engine outside of the car, how difficult is it to change the oil pump on an H22A? I have the engine out due to other reasons but I need to change it so I was wondering how hard? I figured it wouldn't be too difficult....
with the engine out it is not hard. pull timing belt and components. remove balance shaft pulleys. drop oil pan. remove pickup. pull oil pump off. clean everything. reassemble with new oil pump. make sure you get your timing marks right. i am sure i left out a step or ten. If you have never done a timing belt job take your time. get a helms and read up on it before you dive in. gl
THanks!
I was doing an F20B DOHC Vtec swap and needed the crank position sensor and stuff on the new motor but took the oil pump off the H22 and found it too be too risky to reuse due to high mileage so ended up ordering an obd1 distributor and wired it in so the Crank sensors were not needed.
