d16a6 into a 98 dx?
hey guys currently i have a d16y7(with a z6 intake manifold swap) in my 98 dx coupe. Its only got about 200,000km on it, but i have a connecting rod knock and its blown its second headgasket since ive owned it. Its time to move on. I can get my hands on 2 d16a6's for next to no cost at all and im getting one to build and one to just throw in for the time being. The one im building plans to have a z6 head, arp headstuds, cometic headgasket, for a small turbo build i have pieced together.
But my question is, i know obviously the intake manifold and header will bolt directly on. But will the obd2a distributor bolt onto the a6 head? also will the sensors under the distributor be able to plug into my factory obd2a engine harness? Anything else that might not work?
Thanks for the help
UPDATE:
new question is, will the y7 oil pump fit onto the d16a6 block? so i can use the crank sensor?

the dizzy will work, and you can use the sensors. But you WILL have to convert to OBD1, your D16Y7 has a crank sensor on the gear that you can't install onto the D16A6.
okay so i got my first d16a6, now my next question, is the d16y7 oil pump interchangable with the a6 one? can i just swap the y7 one onto the a6 block so i can use the crank sensor?

Your fan switch for the A6 is in the back of the block. You'll have to extend the wiring to there. If you end up running a p28 ecu down the road then you won't need the CKF at all as OBD1 doesnt use it. Other that you should be good for now.

you actually can run a crank sensor but u have to replace the oil pump, crank sensor, lower timing gear, oil pickup and oil pan. Then u will need to plug where the dipstick goes through the oil pump. Or you could pull the dipstick tube and dip stick from a junkyard from a y7,y8, or y5 motor. I guess for some people its just more work then just getting a conversion harness and ecu. I did my z6 in my 97 civic this way so i didn't have to splice wires for the CFK trick to pass the sensor to pass emissions
