So I'm going to be tracking my civic this summer.
I just want to know if it's a possibility to run a harness without a roll bar or a harness bar? I know you have to have the rear straps at least 45 degrees.
Somebody let me know! Thank you.

Not safe. No matter what you may see in a JDM touge video. You need at a minimum a roll bar with a main hoop, a diagonal cross brace, a harness bar and two down bars.
It's not safe with just a harness bar either. And it's generally not safe to run on the street with harnesses either no matter the setup.

Anybody heard good reviews about this? I'm going to be mildly tracking my civic, no SCCA events or anything. Mostly test and tunes, WMHM, Wangfest.

X2 on what brad posted.
45 degrees is a bit much and you run the risk of injury.
IDK why Jegs calls what you posted a cage.
its a roll bar with a center hoop.
Much more safer than a harness bar to mount your harness to.

So I will be able to use a harness bar for track events like I posted above?
I have a harness bar, will be getting a new kirk cage soon. And from day one I was told no more than 10 degrees from the shoulders or else you could attain serious back injury or even death. I had a friend die from this, so don't **** around with seat belts if you aren't going to do it right.

Wouldnt use it with reclining seats.
A roll bar with the center hoop would be the only way to mount the harness correctly.
When in doubt defer to the manufacturers instructions.
No no no harness bars of any kind no matter who makes them.
If this is a daily Id only put it in when you track it.
Might be a pain in the behind to take it in and out but..
NO cages or bars in a daily. It's asking for trouble (squish your mellon)
If you do use it make sure you pad the hell out of it with some good roll cage padding not that cheap *** pipe insulation you can get at any hardware store.
BTW this stuff has been covered already... you should search ,and use google.
look into scroth racing harnesses if you havent already. you can bolt them into stock locations depending on the car.

the longer the belt straps the more they can stretch and the more of the chance for injury. and x3 on the harness bar and as well no bolt in roll cages.

In a daily driven car.

I'll prob get flamed for this but, back when I started, I still had the "transition" car. It was my daily, but I was not financially committed to a full on race car.
I used to run a 4pt on top of my regular oem seatbelt. I still had stock seats. The class or sanctioning body said it was fine in my class to run the stock seat belt. So I would just with a 4pt on top just to hold me in the seat a little better. This was its only purpose. I was NOT w2w, mostly auto-x and HPDE. So I support that, if thats what you're doing?

Depends............What seats do you have? fixed back or reclining?

So what you're saying is you ran both of the seatbelts at the same time? But yes, I'll be doing mostly track days, no club racing. Mostly test and tunes, and days where I can go run my civic, chill, and have some fun. No serious **** (even though tracking a car is serious) intended.
schroth is good stuff. thats what i put in my car and i realy like the belts.
a ROLLBAR is fine for the street. a cage is a no no ont he street (yes, i did it. i also street drove my race car yack style) a fixed back seat is a must when using a harness and rollbar on track.
i just had this conversation with a friend of mine that wants to use a bucket, harness bar and belts in his vette so he can use the hans. fail.

One thing to envision - if you have a roll over with this set up, the harness is holding you upright and in position for the probable spinal compression when the top caves in. Stock belts won't do this.
most of us on here are going to tell you, all or nothing, it is a pretty default answer. it is something that has been preached to us by most groups we run with.
OP - your stock belts are plenty to hold you in if you're doing HPDE events. many TT'ers even run stock seat belts and have no cages...
and where on "the pinky" do you live? just curious - i'm a manistee regular...

If you decide upgrading the saftey system in the car is absolutely necessary, the bare minimum you should do is:
-Fixed back seats
-Bolt in Autopower
-5 point harness (lap belts bolted through the floor, shoulder belts to the roll bar)
-Airbag delete
