Default is my suspension bottoming out?

i was wondering if my suspension is bottoming out on little bumps on free ways such as where a bridge connects to the road,
my suspension setup is tokiko blue struts with ground control coil overs on a ej8

when i go over those kinds of bumps it makes a loud thud noise.. would it be bad for my suspension? could my struts be going out?

1. put a zip tie around the strut rod somewhat tightly so that it will stay in place when moved up and down.

2. drive around.

3. look at position of the zip tie after driving: All the way to the top: bottoming out.

Do you have bumpstops?

Are you slammed? What are the spring rates?

remember those are stock replacement shocks, not performace shocks.

I'm not sure if I'm slammed but tires tucking 1/2 inch to 1 inch. With 205/50/r15

Yep, IMO garbage when modifying the suspension.

You are slammed, what the spring rates?

Could also be the upper A arm slapping the shock tower. If running a camber kit that may be contributing to this issue.

Figure out what kind of springs they are and/or clean the dirt off the coils and look for an identifying code.

Look at the part number on the spring and look it up...

Struts are most likely blown. Never understood why people slam their hondas and tuck the tires on stock struts.

Stock replacements pretty much ARE stock shocks. Understand?

Just want to throw this out there. When I bought my car it had stock struts with off brand adjustable coils. I thought tokico blues were performance shocks. I found out after I put them on that they were "stock replacement." for me not doing research. I've learned now. I just wanted to say I did notice a difference compared to the stock struts. It was better IMO.

Well, the car is going to ride better with new shocks on it compared to old ones. The real issue is, how long will they last?

Well I decided to upgrade since they aren't too good to lower a car, i been reading a lot of good stuff about form&function type 1 to lower a daily drive. I want to get that stance look. Gona buy xxr 501 15x8 with 175/45/15r going to lower my car about an inch.
So with that being said would that brand of full coil-over system be good?
Opinions?

F&F Type 1's are a great beginning coil over. But if you're like me you'll max them out and then want more. -___-. If you're not trying to go retarded low then they are perfect.
