Weird Brake Problem
I replaced my drivers side rear caliper on my EG. Its an Ex sedan. Bled the brakes. Took a little bit but did it the correct way. Passenger rear, Drivers rear, passenger front then drivers front. Got all the air out. Had good fluid pressure coming out of the bleeders and no air. Then tested it and the brakes worked fine. Then a couples of days later the pedal went to the floor. I was able to pump the brakes and get some good pedal pressure. Then after that the brakes were fine and had good pedal pressure. Then on the way to work today they did the same thing. Except this time I was not able to pump them up and get some pressure right away. I continued on my way to work as I left a considerable gap between cars and I still had some braking power (not much). Then at the stop light right before I got to work the brakes worked fine again. In fact I have never had them feel so firm. I checked my brake fluid reservoir and it was still full. I'm going to take it for a lap around the block on lunch and see how the brakes are again. Any ideas of what could have caused this? Still air in the lines, bad master cylinder, bad brake booster?
Fixed with a new master cylinder properly bench bled before installation. Didn't even have to bleed the brakes which was nice. But the little plastic plugs they gave me for bench bleeding were garbage.
