Default B18B1 Swap Question, Please Help.

Ive been looking into swaping to a B18b1, i found a wreaked civic a good family friend has it and his buddy rolled the car and it sat upside down for ten minutes, and i was told he shut it off immediately. My question is is the engine any good? is it worth doing the swap? i checked it out it seems clean, and it has a B20 head on it, the guy wants 800 for it, lemme know whats good, thanks a ton,

Robert.

as long as it still runs good, wasn't driven into a lake, and the engine compartment wasn't compromised, i don't see why the engine wouldn't be viable for transplant. And at $800 for the whole car to get the parts from that's not a bad deal.

Yeah the b18 is in a 94 honda civic hatch, so all the parts are there, i think i might perform this swap, you think its gonna eat fuel?

As long as it's in good shape there is no reason why it would. I achieved better gas mileage when installing a b18b1 in my old 91 hatch. Better gearing and more power meant i didn't have to work the engine as hard to get moving. Hell, i get better gas mileage in my boosted ej1 then i do in my z6 swapped ek.

depends greatly on your mechanical skill. i started in the afternoon and finished mid-evening. If you have all the right parts and tools it shouldn't take that long.
