lights flicking?
I have a 00 civic Lx (original owner) and for a while now the dash and head lights are flicking! It has 218k and everything is original. I have never change anything on the motor besides fluids, battery (less then 6 months), rotors/brakes, spark plugs. Honestly it still drives like a champ, burns no oil, no cel and has lots of power left. I been doing some homework and from what I found out is that it could be a bad alternater or loose ground. When the lights flicker its not like they completely shut off but more like it's loosing amp or kind of like someone is playing with the dimmer switch. It doesn't feel like im loosing power either.
I take frequently trips with this car from WA to MT and it is my DD so I really want to get this problem fix or find out what it is b4 something bads happens when im on the road. I going to be changing all the belts, water pump soon so that would be a good time for me to replace or fix the problem also. I also heard that a bad alternater belt could be the problems too. I have not checked the alternater, dizzy or loose grounds yet. Im just trying to gather some info and help to see if it is really a problem and seeing if you guys have ever had a similar problem. Any help, tip or info would be appreciated. Thanks

Belts are fairly tight and doesn't make any noise but are starting to crack as I can see them. No other lights flicker besides what I said early. Just the dash and head lights. The weather is horrible here. Just got about 6" of snow and I only have a single garage so I honestly don't want to pull the R out or work in the cold. I might just have to wait until the weather gets better.
same thing happens on my 00 ex. i had the battery and alternator tested and was told everything is fine. havent checked the belts, but i think maybe the connection in the switch is bad because when its cold out my headlights take anywhere from 1-4 minutes to actually turn on. Parking lights turn on right away.
