Just noticed I didn't put my dowel pins in my head before I put everything together; haven't run the car yet; still having a problem with the timing belt; but everything's hooked back up to the head after a head gasket change. Can I run without it safely or should I just put the dowel pins back in to be better safe than sorry?

 

I would advise you to put them back in before you run the motor.

 

 

Go to your local junk yard/pick-n-pull and get some. They will probably give them to you for free
