Default Help removing ISB

Inner ISB was destroyed and center of bearing fell apart when disassembling the tranny. Outer part of bearing is on a seat without a lip to get a puller under.

Recommendations for removing? Thanks H-T.

die grinder with a cut off wheel?
make several x shaped relief cuts in the bearing case and then pop it out with a chisel.
be careful the harden steel will shatter and send shrapnel every where.
i ve had to do this with wheel bearings that where stuck inside the steering knuckle.

If you have a welder tack a steel bar across it and hammer it out from the back. If not you'll need to get creative.

Don't mean to revive an almost 5 month old thread but did anything ever come of this issue? I'm having the exact same issue and the other part of the bearing is stuck on the main shaft. Ideas?

Agree, best idea problem is that i don't really have access to any welding equipment but i was looking in harbor freight and would this work http://www.harborfreight.com/plastic...ron-67102.html

Also, would a bearing puller work on the other end of the bearing stuck on the mainshaft work?

thanks!
glad someone out there replied
