Yes, is it turning over by key but not firing up?

So it didn't turn over when both half shaft and cv axle were installed? Is compression start another way of saying push start?

Are you hearing the starter kick out and contact the flywheel in an attempt to turn the motor over?

With a good charge on the battery, the starter motor is strong enough to move the car forward without the clutch depressed. Regardless, when you push the clutch the tranny is out of the equation(unless the clutch is broke or something is stuck in there)...so if the starter is actually working and trying to spin the flywheel but can't then the motor is locked up. You can try to spin the engine at the crank pulley to confirm this (spark plugs removed makes it easier). If the engine spins by hand I would say you have a bad starter, clutch switch, or ignition switch or blown fuse. Either way the vague amount of information provided leaves form even more speculation than you would already receive from an internet diagnostics. Good Luck

Ok JLW....work with us a little bit.....You put the key in the ignition, turn it to start....then what?

Have you checked the main ingredients? cam and crank timing, ignition timing, fuel, spark, and compression.....

When the key is in the second position does the CEL come on for two seconds and simultaniously you hear the fuel pump prime? (a humming sound for like 2 or 3 seconds)

When you turn the key does it turn over?
When you turn the key does it NOT turn over?
