My 1998 Dx Hatch DailyDriver!
I've had many many honda's, some just to tinker around with and some to beat on when I wanted be a pretend racecar driver.
I recently drove to Portland Oregon from Olmypia Washington to pick up a 96 Red DX hatchback. Got there and the car was faded, and had a huge piece of metal missing from the rear QP..
So I decided to walk.. on the way back someone that I emailed called me. So I pulled over and started talking to him. He told me his car needed a little work but had a very clean and straight body. So I drove back to Portland.. Saw the civic and was just stunned, it was really clean, has some paint chips and flakes on the hood/bumper, but no dents on the entire car, opened the doors, no weird smells or rips anywhere. Was a very nice car, he was asking 3000.
We went on a test drive and I realized what kind of work it needed, the main imput shaft bearing was so toast that it would just grind on acceleration no matter what. Offered him 2500, and took the chance.

Drove it home, found a dx transmission for $60 on craigslist. (yes I painted it gold, was a dare.. hahaha)

ripped it apart.. put it back together
and it started up and ran flawlessly.
been driving it every since.
After that night I blew around $1000 dollars on parts.. without buying wheels.

recently got most of my stuff in the mail.
so how it sits after doing my own roll and pull, and getting my wheels..
no camber kits, all OEM.

don't mind the messy garage

Cool, I like threads that start from scratch. I wish I did that for mine, but that was 8 years ago...kinda late. lol Still have my hatch, never will let it go.
thanks man, I painted it a honda silver, and it looked blueish sliver on the car, so I took it off and I'm waiting to get some paint made to match it, so I can do the skirts and front lip also.
thanks a lot

I really have no idea, I use to have a b16a civic wagon, and I really loved the b16, was a great motor and could take one hell of a beating.
I think I'm gonna start out slow, maybe play with the y7 a little bit. but for now it's amazing.
SiR bumpers could be cool but they seem very popular! haha.
when I figure it out I'll make a little list

Not a big fan of the style, but you are making it work for me. haha.
I have a buddy that had a y7 w/ y8 intake mani, bisimoto cam, and bolt ons.
Was the funnest n/a single cam I ever been in.

have to do the transmission a 3rd time in two weeks lol!
faulty throwout bearing or something, it makes little mouse squeaks when the clutch is out..
If I can find 0 offset mesh wheels I'll trade/buy them! just haven't seen anything, thanks man

thanks man!
I'm stoked I'm buying a y8 mani this weekend
I had a sweet little mini me Vtec D series back in the day. Y7 block+Y8 head, Y8 intake manifold, header, full exhaust,c/a intake, MSD, NOS dry setup (75shot) ran through my Hondata(Fuel+Ign compensation)Full tune, EX trans(shorter geared). I had so much fun with it, never worried about it at all. Eventually it gave up life, but the setup was just perfect for a D/D. Though I have been through at least 4 D series setups growing up that was the best of them.
haha I'll get a better one today it's gettin sunny out
just looks stock with a big chunk of gold in the bay hahah!
that's sick man, my buddy had a semi build z6 in his eg and it pounding b series on a daily basis, also was really reliable, it's still going to this day!

Yeah, mine failed because back then I wasn't too worried about checking the oil every week. Haha, or the next 3 D setups for that matter. I'm on B series now and check oil like the weather.

this is the one I bought, they did a great job with it, it comes with brackets attached to it, all you have to do is line it up and screw it to the bottom of your bumper, if you need any help just message me and I'll send you some pictures

thanks man
Today I found a silver paint "match" that temporarily did the job on my front bumper.
Also I wanted to show a little bit of my Roll&Pull I did by myself
and my Little do it yourself spaced OEM rear wing! Before paint:

And my duckbill, just was an extending nut screwed onto the spoiler threads, with a 10m bolt threaded into the opposite end, makes it adjustable when ever you want to.

@Libertariat

For the Washingtonians on this thread! you can rent a roll&puller at Speedzone in Lakewood for 200$, 150$down payment and 50$ to actually rent, so it's really only 50bucks for a full day or two.
