I have 99 prelude and strange problem. Code 23 knock sensor showed up, OK, I checked that the sensor was damaged. I ordered 2 new ones (just for the future to have the spare sensor). I replaced the sensor and after driving 1 week ECU was screaming for the knock sensor again. I checked the wire and connection was Ok. In case the first one may be faulty I put another new knock sensor. Of course again after one week the magic light is on, asking for the knock sensor. Do you have an idea what is going on? I have to say that two sensors I bought were not original from Honda. Looking forward to hear from you Guys.

 

Anyone? No suggestions?

 

could be a wiring issue, ecu issue, or engine problem (detonation problem). good luck

Where did you get the sensor from? Maybe the sensors are junk? Maybe a wiring issue. GL.

 

Yeah if it were an OEM sensor you'd be crazy to buy 2 since they are close to $180 for one. Wiring or ECU if the sensors are indeed new OEM ones.

 

just run a new wire for it. mine did the same thing after i replaced it with a new one still had code 23 till i ran a new wire.
