I just need to know if im going to have to switch out my hyperwhites back to amber and also questionable when they do a smog test on my car.

 

prolly not on the lights and yes they will do smog

 

are you sure they do smog? i live in austin and i've never had them test me for smog, ever. maybe they just do that in the DFW area or something...? oh, i also get my car inspected in a little *** town outside of austin...they're cooler there about mods and ****.

I believe in Texas only certain areas have smog tests right now. I bought a car from the Houston area and it had been smogged. I dont believe we do it in Austin yet. Due to the fact Dallas is large like Houston, you may have them there. I doubt they would care about the lights though. We're not Cali- they're not too picky

Yeah i just need to find the right place, last time I went i was an idiot and went to a spot and walked around the back and all the employees cars were v8s. I had failed cuz of red lights in front, intake wasent intact properly, tires in back werent that good, and windshield wiper blades.

Sounds like those state inspections they have on the east coast. I would trade smog for an inspection any day. The biggest POS's are driving on cali roadways. I guess they are passing smog though.

 

There are several bad components in exhaust. Hydrocarbons, nitrous oxides (not NOS yo ) and carbon monoxide. These are measured by a sniffer that is inserted into the tip of your tail pipe. The units are parts per million (ppm). Any given car has manufacturer specs on what the range of these pollutants can be. You must meet or make less than these numbers.
