Swap Issue - A/F Question
Hey HT!
I put together an LS Hatch a few years back and then got sucked away to college. I finally have graduated and am getting back around to sorting this **** out. Took it to the smog ref for two tests to get the swap BAR'd but wasn't able to pass the emission tests, passed the visuals. I failed for high NOx levels and from inputting the data from the emissions into a lambda calculator my A/F looks like it is around 15.49. This is too high and is most definitely the reason my combustion chambers are hot blowing NOx and I'm seeing a little white smoke when I try to bump off the rev limiter. Antifreeze levels are topped off and oil looks clean. Timing is 14 BDTC but I am going to reset it to be certain nothing has changed. Battery is dead so I'm guessing ECU is resetting every time I jump the car. What are my options to getting the car to run a bit richer. My thoughts are giving the O2 sensor a little clean since it is a hardly used Denso (bought it new about 200 miles ago). Not pulling any codes...Have an AEM fuel rail on the b20 I pulled out of the car. I'm new to this but have tools and can do the work. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks HT

Okay, did the jumper and set timing to 16 BTDC. Can't really tell a difference in the way the car runs but hopefully the combustion chambers can.
