electric problem!!!! 96 Civic fuel pump won't prime
i have a 96 civic hatch cx (ej6) and my problem is that my fuel pump wont come on or any pump, so i tested my main relay and everything was ok and working properly in my friend car so i took the 2 wires that goes to the fuel pump the black one and the yel/grn and plugged it to my multi meter and there was voltage for couple of seconde after the start so everything ok here but as soon touch the pump teminal the voltage goes and it wont come on!! the pump is working good because i test it on 12 volts.

ignition switch have been tested and its ok!i did all the troubleshooting from my service manual and everything is ok and working properly . have power everywhere but a soon as i touch the pump terminal the voltage drop to 0.00v. To me it sounds like a ground problem?
or a wire that holds by a hair!? and is it suppose to be 12 volt at the pump?

yesterday i took the plastic off the side panel that hide the fuel pump harness.
i cleaned the ground wires that were bolted under the driver seat and changed the main ground from the battery to the body! magicaly the car start! now the thing is that i dont know what the problem was. i dont know if its from the new body ground or the under seat ground! ill go only for small ride for now till i now the car is safe to drive for long trip!

same thing happen today the stop runing while driving so i had to stop to chek my grounds.
same thing,no power to the pump.so i took the diagram and put a wire straight from the pinout 4 of the main relay to the pump. no more ****in around! the car run's good now.

if you where measuring across the + and - with it not plugged in then the 12v you where seeing was a voltage drop (your power wire probably is corroded somewhere along the kick panel.
