Default SC44 2.5 or 3" Downpipe??

I have an sc44 and the turbine has a 4 bolt 2.5" outlet. Should I just fab a 2.5 downpipe with a vibrant 2.5-3" concentric expander (shown below) after the first downturn or would it be better to do 3" straight from the 2.5" flange?

After some research some people said it was a bad idea to weld 3" straight to the 2.5" flange?? Does not make since to me.
Any help is appreciated. The turbo is going on a stock H22.

The conical is a great upgrade for those that don't want to go through a lot of work to use a flange for the 2.5" discharge to a 3" discharge. There's no need to weld straight to the turbine housing itself.

Well I wish I could go straight out like that. Problem is alternator clearance and I am keeping a/c so there is gonna have to be a down turn on the pipe before I can add the transition. Basically I am asking will I lose any power over making a DP like this(see crappy paint pic) rather than straight 3inch pipe from the 2.5" flange?

It won't really matter since you're putting this on a stock H22. Anything over 350whp max and it's only a matter of time before BOOM! A full 2.5" dp should be fine if you stay within what the stock motor can handle.
