Hello, I was wondering had anyone here use above skunk2 pro 3 or Jun type 3 cam in stock b18cr or b18cr with b16b piston? any extra horse power or just a waste. Thank you.

then what is the best stage aftermarket cam for stock b18cr beside the type r cam it self?

 

As kyden said those cams are way to big for a stock motor. If your looking to get them you better start doing your research and get ready to spend a lot of money to get the mods to be able to support those cams correctly

 

What's your goals. A type r cam would be one of your best options for the stock motor

 

for a stock block, some simple street cams will be fine. but realize its alot more then slapping in some cams..

springs/retainers
cams should be dialed in
cam gears added
ecu chip and tune

all of that and well over a grand.. so save up and do it right


or get some type r camss and ecu or tune

 

nothing... for my setup... just someone said that his mech recommend him to change Jun type 3 because his stock b18cr with b16b ctr piston. So jun type 3 cam can work here. So I post this question to find an answer.

 

If you can tell US what kind of horsepower you are supposed to get from it then install it. If you cannot then do not do it. People keep trying to install random parts hoping to get this magic horsepower increase. But the problem is they have NO CLUE how much horsepower!!!

Unless you plan to commit to n all out build of the head and THEN tune it, leave it the hell alone Vin Diesel.

 

well whats you compression going to be with those pistons?

goto zeal compression calculator and get a ballpark..

what gas are you going to use?

if ur pushing over 13 then i can see the juns being useful.

 

base on the zealwork. the b18cr with pct piston and oem 3 layer gasket cr = 12.73. So the compression is high right? Above stage cam work here?

But if one layer gasket the cr = >13

by the way is not my setup so just curious some one ask me this question

 

So you have ctr pistons or itr pistons

 

With that compression, if you have all of the supporting mods, including full valve train, and get it tuned either cam could work well.

He's been trying to come up with the magical combination of parts to be able to take on Paul Walker without NOS. I know he claims this isn't his engine this time but it's still the same kind of post.

 

It's cuz he thinks you can throw anything in a motor and it will make power. He thinks just cuz their huge cams they'll make huge power

You need to give us goals, purposes for the upgrades. A budget would be nice too.

If you're throwing those bitches in there and expecting it to run flawlessly on your daily commute, you're in for a rude awakening.

Are you going for a drag/street/autocross/etc? Are you prepared to upgrade the internals of the engine to handle this? Is the car itself modified to withstand the power? Even if you build the engine correctly, if you're throwing it into a stock shell, it'll rip itself apart after you gun it a few times.
