Default Is there something wrong with my brakes?

When my car has been sitting for awhile in the cold and I go to start and get going, as I start to move my car the brakes let out a bumping sound just for a second then its over. I have rusty discs, although my brake fluid is about 50% full. Any ideas?

Maybe its just knocking down some of the surface rust on the rotors as it has been sitting.

You're probably right. There's a lot of surface rust. Shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, that's completely normal when your car sits and the rotors develop rust.
