Default prelude core damage. bent pass. frame rail need help fixing

buddy of mine has a prelude that was recently in an accident.

loves his car to death. just got into an accident.

his insurance is wanting to total it out, but the car runs and drives perfectly fine.

i've talked him into a core support swap, and trying to get the frame rails straightened out and i need a little more info to relay to him..

these are the pics i was sent today. his hood was bent up, but mainly hit on the passender headlight area. so i know a core support swap is easy.

here is what he is wanting to straighten out V

any help would be appreciated.

It just comes down to doing the work and straightening everything out...nothing really different from any other car.

Is the actual frame rail damaged or just the core support?

You might be able to bend it back close to spec...otherwise just put in a new core support.

Take a pic from the side with fender off too, if u can. What I can tell is u need to just weld in a upper tie bar and a right side support. U mostly lucky don't need to do a full core support swap. Need couple more pics. Do u know if he's getting new or used or aftermaket? U don't need the hole core support but maybe thats the only way u can get it. U need to pull the upper tie bar and side support before u drill them off. U need to get it as far back to normal position. U can just take a tape measure and check the LEFT front fender bolt to one of the RIGHT strut bolts, then before u weld the right side u know to check to make sure u r square. U can clamp the side support and upper tie bar in place and to make sure u r square set your fender and headlight into place. But u shouldn't have to if u pull it then check with tape measure that u r squared up

his replacement parts will all be OEM.
i told him if he wanted to take measurements, similar to what you have described. and i also told him to do an "X" pattern to see how far it might be pushed in, as well as horizontal and vertical measurements.

Yeah that will be good. Is he going to put the whole core support in or weld in the piece he needs? Just from what I can c it doesn't look like he needs but maybe three pieces. If that's all he needs that will save him from maybe having to remove the radiator and ac condenser and etc. Check with him, may save him time and money.

I had something like that, it can be pulled back into shape. You can do it yourself with jacks and pry bars, just don't expect it to be perfect.
