Just got my first Honda.
I just picked up a 98 Civic EX Coupe, I am new to Honda's and am wondering what you guys recommend for a decently priced Header and Intake.
I am planning on getting a Magnaflow exhaust and coilovers within the year.
Engine is the D16Y8, here are some pictures of it how it is now, bone stock.

Budget isn't really a problem, its just a daily though so nothing too crazy.

First question:
WHY do you want these things on your car (the exhaust and intake/header)
They will NOT make a D16Y8 motor any more noticeably powerful, only make it sound louder (trust me on this one)
Although the re-usable filters that come with the aftermarket intakes CAN help save cost over replacing the air filter every few years, it would take a LONG time to make up the cost of the intake in air filter replacements saved.
Save your money for the suspension and bushing replacements/alignments to follow
^^
However, if you're going for more of a show look...then by all means, get that ugly plastic air box outta there!

nice coupe man congrats
well its true the intake/header dont give you more noticeably power..but they enhance throttle response..i had a regular cone filter before and with a CAI its more responsive
-look for a used intake on craiglist it will be cheap....AEM is good for being carb legal i have a cold air AEM intake n got it for 50 bucks..
-headers = DC but dont use up money on headers just save tht for suspension

Thanks for the suggestions, I am definitely getting coils as soon as possible. It has a alarm system already. I don't plan on doing anything to it until I move because people look for stuff to steal in my neighborhood. I will wait and do a engine swap later down the line, just keep engine stock until it blows. Kinda weird having a quiet car for a change.
I'll just save the $ for my fun car and leave this as a decent looking daily driver.

If you wanna be mad tyt3 Honda-Tech JDM, Lower it on stock struts until you have zero suspension travel, boat wheels, and an eBay lip.
haha jk, jk. But it looks pretty clean! Good luck with it.

Thanks man, I stopped by Portland Speed Industries to get some tips as for parts and such. Going to save up and buy a Type R engine/trans Buddy Club coilovers, Header for the B18. Going to start with a cheapo cai from ebay and buy a Perrin filter (since they are local).
Can't decide on wheels, kinda want Schmidt Modern Lines 1pc. 15x8.

Those seem like they would be nice on the Coupe.

nice car. i recommend doing a stealth alarm install im sure the one it has isnt. fully hidden with backup battery, tilt/glass/proximity/motion sensors, multiple sirens. For suspension consider Koni yellows and ground control coil sleeves. one of the best bang for the buck options. some nice wheels and tires, and exterior touches. your swap plan sounds good, consider other engines too as they are cheaper than type R and can be as good if not better with some work.
