Default Need some adivce on 07 Si going to look at in a hour

So I was going to buy a 08 Chevy Colorado 4x4 tmrw but I orginaly wanted a Civic Si but couldn't find any that had low mile and not modded to death I wanted a virgin.

Well last night I came across a 07 Civic Si thats black and not modded up with only 33k, Their asking $14,500. Car looks mint Has a clean title and Carfax it was traded from a family member to this dealership.

My question is what Should I look for on this car, I'm deff going to look for Rust/Damage/ Any paint Work, Taking the Motor for a spin and listen for any knock or weird sounds. Check brakes and Tire's, Check all fluids.

Is there anything else I wouldn't think of to look at that I should be. Hopefully This will work out as it would be nice to go from a 98 ex b16a swap to a 07 SI with low miles. I'm going to try to hit him with 13k cause that's my budget which it would come to $14,252 out the door with new plates and everything, But if I have to go to 13.5k ill do it.

Thank's for any Tips

A lot of the SI's have problems shifting at redline. Very poor CMC design from Honda. Many owners end up swapping out the CMC for an aftermarket or retrofit. In other words - make sure the car can quickly 1-2 shift at or near redline.

I did not check this and was quite disappointed when i found out about it later.

Did they fix this problem in the 09-11 model years?

The original problem with the 06-08 si's was a faulty 3rd gear set, this has been beat to death and covered on most honda/civic forums. I have a 11 and can shift extremely fast with no issues, hell I power shift ALOT and not a hiccup. Oh and these cars suck fat donkey dick without flashpro, after having it then removing it, it takes everything inside of me to not swerve into a tree ending it all everytime i get behind the wheel now.

Also carfax dont mean ****, you wouldn't believe the cars i've seen with "clean" carfaxes, check to make sure every vin sticker is intact and check all jamb areas for signs of over spray from a paint repair.

If I use a flashpro, does that void my warranty? I've still got 26,000 miles of warranty life left that I don't want to lose. If it does void the warranty, will they ever be able to find out that I used a flash pro if I flash back before dealer visits?

i just got an 07 si yesterday i love it. Seats are comfy i dont have a problem slamming gears or normal driving third gear. I have noticed if i just want to hit vtec in say second gear when i hit it and left off the gas and put in the clutch the car stays in a high rev for a couple seconds i don't like that it makes me feel or look like i don't know how to drive. In my other cars Ive been able to tap vtec then push in clutch let off gas and have car whine down fairly quick with no problem. Other than that id say get it if you haven't already idk how old this post is ha.

i have a 2009 si.. i have troubles getting it into third sometimes.. the guy at honda said upto the 08's there was a tsp about trouble getting into third.. its most likely the synchros cause my buddy got his replaced and 9,000 km.. i still got warranty on it however so that should be fixed right away.. he is guessing mine was a late 08 production model which may be why it does it
