its great to be back here in this forum, its been a while for me...
just replaced my OEM clutch with another OEM clutch
i have only 26K miles, first owner...
and Wow, my car feels great...in the past week, my clutch has been slipping like crazy...
my mechanic showed me my old clutch, total trashed and burnt out
good thing my flywheel is alright...
I just wanted to here everyone's experience with their stock OEM DC5 - S Clutch...
everyone says i am doing something wrong, but i was always told that Honda clutches last about 7 years, and i have my ride for 10 years now this month...
i have noticed, i burn my clutch the most, when i drive up hill,
i live in LA, and when i go to dodgers stadium, i know i be killing/burning my clutch..
What is everyone elses experiences?
thanks

OEM clutches usually last longer than 7 years. My 02 rsx still has the original clutch and is still almost like new....it really depends on mileage, and driving style
153k on my 03 base. stock clutch is still grabbing like day 1. looks like my 3rd/4th syncrhos are shot though, lol! clutch outlasting syncrhos. great.
I don't care if you have had the car for 10 years, a clutch is worn out by use, not time. You must be riding that thing like a ****.

i agree, when i go uphill, i ride the clutch at high **** RPM's
never more again...
but i noticed when my clutch went dead, was when i was trying to speed on the freeway to get my lil brother to class, i noticed my high reving at the time, really made my clutch bite the dust...
But WOW, Now my clutch feels like brand new, even better actually,
i love my DC5 S, freakking slingshot still... love my Ride

i think its time for me to do something to my car, i havent been back to this forum in YEARS!!, thanks for all the replies everyone,

its no doubt i am over revving... especially when i go uphill in traffic...
that is when i first noticed my clutch burning
Fack, i hate Dodgers Stadium...
i knew i was driving it wrong if i am revving over 5-6K RPM going up hill...
People been telling me it should be 3-4K RPM going uphill, i guess i am too chicken rolling backwards going uphill

as long as i can pinpoint my faults, i will learn to prevent this in the future...

26K miles, yeah even i accept the fact i am doing something really wrong

if i drop the gear, it would only affect the pressure plate?
also i noticed, maybe between shifts i need to let up on the throttle...
its no doubt over revving
hmmm...
but seriously only 26K miles, i need to change my driving habits

jeeezzz

thanks for the input everyone...
right now, i am thinking what to do next with my car...but its running like a Champ still

so im happy still
