Short throw shifter? They make a short throw shifter for about $20, it's basically a rod with the "ball" moved in relation to where it connects to the torque tube.

I actually really like the Oem 94-01 oem shifter. You can probably find one at a local Junkyard. As far as bushings, the mfactory ones are real nice too.

A short THROW shifter is simply an aftermarket shifter that reduces the amount you need to move the **** to go from gear to gear.

It is simply a replacement shifter and does no affect the linkage at all.

I bought a Megan short throw shifter that is suppose to be 40% less throw and it cost me like 20 bucks. I was very pleased with it and I could definitely feel a slight difference in the shift and see it noticeably looking at the shifter. Also it was a little shorter physically than the OEM one but I like my shifter low. I figured I'd put that out there.....maybe help you in your search or whatever.

Not all shifters are created equal. I just ordered a Fastline shifter today...cannot wait to try it out!

I'm a big fan of the dual bend too. I'd like to try a tall one like that fastline though...
