That was surprising? This is an often overlooked aspect of turbo builds. It doesn't even take that much power to overcome a stock clutch.
So what's the question?

This is why I only buy Exedy clutches.
It is awfully tempting to save 50% on a clutch, until you see videos/pictures of slipping clutches and busted *** XTD/F1/Ebay clutches on forums.

Somebody has to support and keep those crappy companies in business. Lesson of the day: If you buy crappy products, expect crappy results....
Whats that saying again???
You get what you pay for....
If your not gonna build your car right why bother modifying it at all? Might as well just leave it stock and enjoy it that way. Buying cheap parts like this guy did with his clutch is just not worth the extra headache in the end to save a little $$

As much as people (myself included) rag on XTD clutches. I do have a friend that ran an XTD 6 puck for the last 5 or 6 summers in a GS-R swapped hatch. It was daily driven from may to november every year, absolutely beat on, it's been boosted for the last year making 320whp. and it's got about a dozen passes on it at the track since its been boosted. It was worn out when pulled this winter, but it never once slipped in all that time. For the price it really wasn't that bad. It's getting replaced with an ACT though.
If it's doing it at 2500 miles you might want to look into what caused the slipping besides "because XTD" transmission input shaft seal might be leaking, or the rear main seal. Or the disc or pressure plate might just plain be out of spec.

The clutch only has 2500 miles on it.
I bought it off ebay for $149 shipped with the pressure plate.

It has worked great since i got it, grabbed great. Ill pull the tranny and see what happened.
I was thinking of just buying an act disk and putting it in there, how do you think that would work out?

I have a 2 gauge pod coming in soon to replace some of the white, I bought the car with it all painted and i plan on doing a SI or crv cluster so it didn't really bother me for the time being lol

ive had a xtd clutch for about 4-5 years now it used to slip when it was new. now it holds but makes noises on engagement and i think thats the springs in the center are shot now. i got about 30-40k miles out of my stage 3 xtd on a boosted d. the clutch holds up if u don't beat on it every corner u turn. which im sure beating on ur car with high miles motor is going to cause leaks sooner as well. id believe the break in on these clutches is probably recommended 6 pucks are not very dd friendly but i do it fine every day. when its about to go they tend to be a pain in the ***
I have an ACT 4 puck unsprung just like that installed in 08 and still going strong. Just a few track passes on it, but mostly street driving.
(B20 boosted with 240lbs/tq)
I always said, try and save a buck and it will cost you 2 when modding a honda
