Ive had this 92 Hatch for about 3 months now and its been perfectly fine everyday but Just on sunday (FEB 12th) I drove my car fine all day, parked it outside at home and it ended up snowing that night about an inch. monday morning rolls around and I drove my truck all day. Tuesday morning it clears up decide to take my car and it wont start. it cranks i just here the starter going and going but nothing. My fuel pump is priming, and Just right now I bought and installed a brand new Cap, Rotor, ignition coil, and spark plugs. The firing order is right, and before I changed the plugs they were wet with fuel so Im not sure what else it could be..

Also I just put my battery on the charger and it read somewhere around 20% so could it be that? Ive had a battery go bad in the past when we change from warm weather to cold weather, back and forth just not sure if that could be it. The battery is maybe 3 years old? Cant remember.

Check fuses? ECU relays? How do you know you're not getting spark? Does it just turn over, or does it turn on then shut off?

 

All fuses are good. All grounds were all redone 2 weeks back when my rad fan stopped working. I have not checked for spark since I cant because Im home alone right now. The car just turns over and wont start at all. It does not start then die..

check your igniter in your distributor find a buddy with a distributor and put it on see if that does the trick

 

Thats funny you say that because After pulling the #1 plug and bumping the starter. I got no spark at all. I was strongly thinking its the igniter. since that and the plug wires are the only things I havent replaced.. Ive been trying to find a dizzy but nobody I know has one extra and I dont really want to buy a new igniter for $60 if I can buy a good used dizzy for a lot less and swap my new parts into lol. but that is what ill try next

Jump down about 1/2 way for the igniter, or run through the whole thing if you may have missed anything.

 

just realized I had a brand new obd1 b series vtec dizzy so I swapped the igniters. pulled #1 plug, bumped the starter and this time I saw spark.. put it back in but no start still!!! WTH is going on? How can this motor go from being fine from using it the last four months daily with no problems to just not starting after sitting unused for less than 48 hours????
