Default Anyone use somekind of Data Logger?

Do any of you people who track race use any sort of Data Logger?
I tried to do some research on this, and found out that there are a bunch out there, including MoTec, EFI Technology, Racetech, TechTom and Stack.

They all seem to be quite expensive other than the TechTom V Logger being around $300

It seems very useful in comparing the good runs and bad runs. Any info on this? thanx

I am not really familiar with this subject, however I do know there is one out now that is basically a Palm Pilot, that hooks into either an existing computer jack for you car, the jack that the dealer plugs the diagnositics in...I will do so digging to find the article on it, I dont think it is relatively expensive and I am not exactly sure what it does but from what little i read it tracks HP, electronic performance etc...

As for people using them at the track, i do not know many people if any in ECHC that use them, I have seen them for drag racing obviously, I think these things are for people with highly tunned, very testy engines that require a lot of up keep to run them at peek performance. So they are basically for the pros, that have unlimiated budgets that need to monitor their million dollar investments, and for the serious weekend warriors...

Well, the Stack Data logger logs the lap time and also the amount of throttle you open and etc.

thanx for the response

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't HC and some other series not allow data acquisition?
