Default first oil change with new turbo setup and original motor

So I put a turbo kit on a friends del sol on a stock 200k d15b7 and its got about 2k since the kit was put on. My question is if the oil needs to be changed and the turbo is a journal bearing does it matter what type of oil is used? I.e. synthetic, non syn, weight type etc. Thinking about using mid grade non syn. Will this contaminate any of the internals? What is a good/decent type to use? Is a godspeed kit.

run synthetic, it holds up to heat better than conventional. Oil change intervals will likely need to be shorted than in a stock engine, but that an only truely be determined with an oil analysis.
