I am in the process of rebuilding a ITR head. I am replacing valves / guides / seals / etc. I am wanting to use Oem valve guides but can't find a part number for "Type R" Valve guides. I am only finding GS-R valve guides and part numbers. Are GS-R and Type R valve guides the same (same part numbers as well)? I have been looking most of the day and can't find an answer. If someone could give me a straight answer or a type r valve guide part number, it would be much appreciated. (I am pretty sure they aren't the same valve guides so if you got a number that would be great). Thanks!

 

they are probably the same...valve stem diameters are the same between both heads.

 

I was reading that type r stems are 4.6mm (length) and gsr are 5.5mm so I am not sure if that makes any difference either but yes the stem diameters are the same. I am thinking they are the same too but can anyone confirm?

 

the guides are the same between the two, intake guide: 12204-PR3-305

 

Bringing back from the dead...

That part number above is for "over size". What does that entail of and what other changes would have to be made to use those? I don't want anything special just OEM guides...

Will over size work parts with valve components that are standard size?
