Just recently, like three days ago. I started to have problems with my corner lights (amber side). The stay on light part of the corner lights started flickering. Then when I use the left turn signal, the right turn signal comes on too. Now the corner light stay on lights don't come on at all.

I tested the hazard switch, all was fine, but leaving it on for 30 seconds, it also died. Although while it was working the turn signals part of the corner lights work (clear side), but the stay on lights (amber side) which are also turn signal lights don't come on.

I can still use the turn signals, the green arrows comes on the instrument panel, you hear the ticking.

The bumper lights now don't come on. Also, the instrument panel light does not come on, nor the stay on lights of the back tail lights come on either.

Headlights work, brake lights work, reverse lights work.

Everything else works good. Radio, etc.

I took out the ICU after hearing other issues from all sorts of forums and took a picture of it. It's burnt up a bit.

I'm wondering if I can still clean it with q-tips and alcohol, and most likely if not, should I buy a new ICU or a used one? Where am I able to get a new ICU if I were to buy one? I will try the Honda dealer tomorrow.

Yes, the ICU controls those corner lights among other things. You can find good used ones, I don't think they are available new. Maybe an electronics shop can fix it?
I wired up that half of the corner lights to the bumper lights to workaround it.

 

Not sure if it is repairable. The board and coating itself is fried black. When I took out the ICU from it's little case, you can smell the burntness.

I found some people trying to sell theres. Gonna try to see if pick n pull has one. Hopefully the ef civic MT has the same ICU, CRX's almost about extinct at least at pick n pulls.

I wish I could wire it to my bumper lights but they're out as well. Gonna have to get another one somehow.

If anyone else has any suggestions and/or have a full good conditioned ICU they can spare to sell, don't hesitate to message or pm me. Doing some price matching.

 

You don't have bumper lights at all? Ebay can get you going. The bumper wires are probably still there. The corner light and bumper light wires are in the same harness at the shock towers, just use solder and heat shrink. I almost grabbed a hatch ICU at the junkyard today, but I don't know if they are compatible either.

 

oh wow.. yeah that thing is toast. You should just check out local junkyards for that.. The yard by me would sell something like that for $25.
