Default Blend door line pops out of socket on the climate controls

93 civic. my blend door wouldnt work so I tore it apart and figured out that the blend door line was popping out of the socket on the climate controls. I cant figure out how its doing this? is there supposed to be some sort of clip that goes in there or is the line itself screwed up somehow? I have two climate control units and they both look the same as if the plastic isnt broken on it.

any ideas?

What are the two picture showing us? Does the lower picture show the cable popped out of the socket?

How does the cable connection look at the other end near the firewall?

Are you able to easily manually to open and close heater hose valve in the engine bay?

yeah, those pics are of the cable itself as how it is supposed to fit into the climate control and then of how it pops out when I push the blend door control over to heat from cool.

when I manually hold it in place in the clip. the blend door works just fine and I get heat and cold when I'm supposed to.

This line doesnt go to the firewall. It goes from the climate controls down to the heater box under the dash. You can see the other end of it looking up from upside down in the passenger seat area. I'd say the cable is maybe 12" long or something like that. I unhooked both ends of it to see if it was binding inside its own lining but it moves easily by hand.

If you don't have the plastic clip (which I'm not even sure it has not do I want to go and find out) then just bend the wire over so it's not at a 90 degree angle. Not that hard.

wow, lol. dunno if I want to hold it together with screws or not but it looks like it would work haha. gonna see if I can find the clip on majestic honda or out at the u-pull...though, I think the clip he was talking about in that post is the bent in tabs that it sits in. cant view the pics at work so I had to pull it up on my phone and the pics were really really tiny...

edit: yeah, must be the actual frame of the unit for me is broken tab wise after looking in this thread at this pic where the unit works properly:
