Default soft brake pedal. eg 5 lug

car is a 1992 civic hatch with itr 5 lug

so i got into my car and started to drive and noticed my brake pedal was very very soft.

i e-brake'd it back to my driveway and turned the car off. i bled the system for air.

anytime i pump the pedal when the car is off the pedal gets hard within 2-3 pumps.

but if the car is turned on it just goes soft. any ideas? thanks H-T

Leaks? Check the lines, Master/slave for seepage. Air still trapped in system? Re-bleed. Brake systems are not that complicated so you should be able to track the problem down.

Interior of the car. Look under the dash.

Check for vac leaks to the booster... I did a rear disc conversion on my eg and afterwards my brakes lasted about 3 weeks... I upgraded to a teggy non abs booster and master cylinder problem solved!!! oh and by the way my symptoms were as you described yours lol

if you have a soft pedal and you aren't losing fluid, definitely check your master cylinder and booster

Start looking for leaks.

Did you bench bleed the MC?
