PLS NEED HELP!!! SKUNK2 PRO3
OK I HAVE B16 HEAD BUILT BY JG ENGINERY WITH A PORT AND POLISH FLAT VALVE AND TI RETAINER WITH A ITR PORT INTAKE MANIFOLD AND B16 BLOCK WITH CTR PISTONS I WILL LIKE TO KNOW IF S2PRO3 WILL WORK FINE ON MY B16 OR IF BETTER TO GO WITH PRO 2??????? I HAVENT GET A TUNE UNTIL GET A GOOD CAMS ANY IDEA ??
also pro3 recomend real good valve train soo maybe u might wanna get some better ones like skunk2 pro series valves train or spertech.. for the life of ur motor. but whatever elses works but just wont last long..
so what the best cams for that set up that i have i just miss the cams and a good tune ????i was trying to going brian crower stage 2 but there not that much powerful as skunk2 pro

well its hard to say, do u have Dual valve springs? what kinda valves do u have? and what kinda Ti retainers do u have? if anything look into blox b or c. their actually pretty good cams for the price
i have 2 heads first is built by JG with all the valve train except for the cams (flat valves ti retainer and dual spring ) and second head is brian crower dual spring ti spring with jdm valves both heads are port and polish .....i decided to go with the jg but i just need to decided what kind of cams use
pro2 or pro3 is too big of a cam on b16 with ctr piston, im very sure someone with b16a and CTR cams could outrun you if you decide to use pro2 or pro3. i had use pro2 on b16a and it felt sluggish (never get to dyno it) but the cams works better on b20vtec 12.5:1cr . u better off with pro1. ..... or go with b20vtec.

any of the pro series well work as long as u clay the motor for p2v and v2v, also u have to tune the motor or the cams well never work right. they are not just drop in cams and adjust by cam gears. u have to degree them the right way with a degree wheel and tune them. if u dnt not degree them and tune them it well never run right.
i ran both pro 1 and 2 with a basic lsvtec with compression 12.5:1 with basic built head and did it the right way and ran for a year plus with smashing and dd, i still havent had a problem. as long as u do it the right way. Degree with degreewheel, clay motor and tune then u wnt have a problem.

its kinda the same just the fact that hes useing ctr pistons so his compression is around 13 and im just saying it "CAN" run right with just a lil bit more tweaking, thast why i brought up my old setup and its nunthing crazy built and i was still able to use the pro2's. Just my two cent (:

B16 stroke = 77.4mm
B18(ls) stroke = 89mm
Thats a pretty "huge" difference buddy. CTR pistons in a b16 doesn't mean squat, you're talking before you even understand all the information needed to make a correct "assumption."
Just for the sake of informing you, CTR pistons in a b16b = 10.7 CR
Compression ratio will play a much larger role in smaller motors. The power difference on a 12.5 CR LSVTEC is very different from a 12.5 B16B. Please.. Research.
His cam options are limited due to displacement and his compression.
Pro1's would be on the bigger side of things to run, I recommend my custom stage 1's, a m22xx, pro1, BCIII+'s, or a tuner2.
Oh really, thats news to me.

i already know about those information already thanks for sharing them tho. his compression should be siting around the high 11.9s with the ctr pistons in his b16 block, im sure its a usdm block not the JDM b16 cause if it was then he would of just said JDM b16b block. im assuming his head is mill also with the flat face valves so that boost his compression up .8 because the flat face valves boost the compression up .4 and im assuming iono how much of head or block deck or mill. but lets just say 0.005 that boosted up compression just a lil. then lets just say its around 12.8:1 thats more then enough to run the pro3's with doing it the right way to use the pro3's. but i could be wrong because im just assuming about the block being deck and head being mill. but u didnt need to come at me like that bro im just giving my two cent because he asked for opinions. IM JUST PUTING IN MY TWO CENT
it takes more than compression to run a huge cam. i dont think you really know what youre talking about. from what it sounds like, youve just been reading what people post up on the forums and try to relay the message like you know what youre doing.
your right sry but i tried, dnt get me wrng im was just puting in my two cent
Your two cents is how misinformation is taken. Next thing you know, they have a thread in this subsection complaining about how his b16 doesn't go anywhere unless he wrap the motor to 8k just to get up a hill on pro3's.
11.9s ... how in the hell are you getting this compression ratio? This isn't a GSR or LSVTEC.
You're not taking into consideration his stroke or rod length, this is where all these high *** compression ratios come from when people run these pistons in a gsr or lsvtec type setup.
They are "MENT" to go into a b16, so the compression ratio is lower..
