I have been practicing port polishing with a D16 vtec head and I noticed on the exhaust port closest to the sensors there is a hole in the exhaust port next to where the valve guides are. I'm not really too sure what its purpose is, I shined a flashlight through it but I couldn't really see the light shine through anywhere. What is it, what is if for, and what does it go to?

I tried taking a picture of it but it hasn't shown up in my email yet, all I have is a camera phone. Hopefully this paint pic will help explain what I am talking about.

 

I'm guessing it has something to do with the EGR system. You would have to be specific which head/motor it came from.

 

It's a junkyard head, it came out of a riced out EG coupe. I'm not 100% sure what block it was on so I'm not going to pretend like I know. I am positive that it is a D16 head though. I figure that should be enough to go from.

 

The only Ds from '92-'00 that had EGR were the VX Z1 and the HX Y5 afaik.
