Default I need a 1.5L engine for my 95 cx...Jap or used?

My rad went in my 95 civic cx 5-spd and I think my wife cooked the engine. I'm losing antifreeze and oil, but the engine is still tight. Some white smoke out the tail pipe now and again. Compression seems low...duh. I replaced the rad and it still runs hot. Do I get someone to fix it...whatever it is...or do I drop a low mileage Jap engine in it??

if you are doing your own work, pull the head and have it checked for cracks and resurfaced

reinstall it with a new gasket, timing belt, and water pump..

my guess is that your head gasket is blown and your head is probably warped or cracked..

yeah and replace the thermostat, too
