Default motor mounts ATTN: DSP autoXers

specifically to all those in DSP/STX...what mounts/inserts are you running, and do you like them?

any of you in DSP running a torque surpression device? Did you make it? Buy it? from where?

I don't have them yet, but my soon to arrive Mugens are supposed a little better than stock (new), but don't transmit much more (if any) vibration into the cabin. The poly inserts (i.e. ES) are much stiffer but rattle the hell out of you. Just depends on what your tolerance for noise/vibration is IMO.

i agree. es inserts make the whole car buzz and rattle. great feel though. no hesitation between shifts. i actually had to try NOT to chirp the tires when i was on the avs'is.

Nate,

I thought these were still illegal in STS. One of the Subaru guys was ready to protest the Hahn's in Petersburg this year because their Neon had motor mounts, so apparently they're not allowed... Unless there was a change at some point from May until now.

Still illegal for STS and only legal motor mounts for STX are ones made by certain companies. Stupid rule, but we are trying to change it.

how much did you pay for the mugens? I'd like to keep my Integra DSP and STX legal, so it looks like I may have to use the Mugens because the rules say Hondas can use Mugen motor mounts....just a bit miffed that they couldn't have said hondas can use energy suspension inserts so i would only have to pay $40 bux

correct. inserts are illegal in sts. they are also not in my car. i tried them out last year when i went to the drag strip. i really don't understand anyone who would bring an illegal car to a high level autocross. did you see the number of FM protests from topeka?? knowingly illegal cars=
