Icon2 99 Civic Si Muffler Replacement? Does OEM Type R fit?

I wanna replace the muffler on my 99 Civic Si. The car is all stock and the muffler is in rough shape. Is the OEM Type R A direct bolt on? Thanks guys

It should work on a coupe/sedan. It wont fit properly on a hatch.

Other way around. Works fine on a hatch. The coupe/sedan requires lenghtening of the pipe. The DB8 Itr Muffler will work if u can find one. The DC2 body is significantly shorter than the EM1.

No, not true at all. A friend of mine ran an ITR muffler on a hatch, we had to cut a good 6 - 8 inches off the tailpipe.

a 4 door integra muffler will fit perfectly. the 2 door is too short.

I guess u could be right. It's definitely too short for an EM1, though.

it will bolt up but the fit will be incorrect. type r civic is a hatch which is shorter than the coupes at the rear. So the pipe will be further behind the rear bumper which will cause it to melt or catch fire. i see itr being mentioned above, same issue tho,

Regardless of what you do, be prepared to spend a little bit of money for a muffler shop to make it fit.

With the right amount of money, you can make almost anything work.

It will bolt up fine but the tip will be shorter by like an inch or two. Not much difference between the two mufflers. Si muffler is $145

Civic coupe, sedan, and integra sedan have the same length axleback.
To answer the OP's question, yes an ITR axleback will bolt up but come short of the bumper.
