Need help replacing parking brake knob (button)

Default Need help replacing parking brake **** (button)

Need some help please! I'm trying to replace my parking brake ****/button release, and I cant figure out how to take the handle off to replace the release button. I dont want to force it off and some how brake something and put my self in a worst position. lol. Any help is appreciated. The part I'm trying to replace is labeled "3" in the diagram below. Thanks! Oh and its for my Type R btw. lol

The handle is pressed on, it will slide off, it is just on tight.
The plastic button is threaded onto steel threads, be careful when putting the new one on, it is very easy to cross thread.

Thank you sir! I tried twisting the handle, it barely budged. Should I just force it straight off, should I worry about stripping whatever plastic tabs are hold the handle in place? Thanks again for you help!

Just twist & pull and the handle will come off, there are no tabs holding it on.

Not sure if you are trying this while it is still in the car, but I removed my parking brake assembly from the car and took the handle off and replaced the button while it was in a vise

yes everything is still in car. I was worried about removing entire assembly and having issues.
