Don't use GSR head studs with a B16 head.

What is your question?

well then your set. get that head to a shop and have them inspect it for warpage and such. get it pressure tested and hot tanked for piece of mind. obviously a new head gasket is recommended and head studs. and your engine is now together.

what do the cylinder walls look like? upload pics if you can.

Pretty sure you are suppose to use B16 head studs from ARP.

Then you may want to get your block checked out too. Since the previous owner most likely beat on it because it has forged internals, a rebuild might be the better decision in the long run. Let your machinist recommend what you should have them do.

What did you expect? To not spend money on a build?
You will need new rod and main bearings, VTEC water/oil pumps and VTEC timing belt.
What are you going to be tuning with? And what about pump and injectors?

B16 studs are about 1/8" shorter than GSR. There's a reason why LSVs and GSRs share the same part number in the ARP catalog.

Curious, what's the rationale behind using a shorter stud? I've heard the cost argument before, but seriously...it's only 20 bux. And the OP's already planning to buy the right ones.
