Default Massive Oil Consumption...HELP

Hey guys....It has been a while since I have been on here but I wanted to hop on and see if I could get some input as to why my '02 RSX Type-S is burning so much oil. I sold my '94 GSR with 250k on it and it NEVER burned oil and never even saw it come out the back end in Vtec even after all the years of hitting Vtec daily. The RSX on the other hand just dumps oil out the exhaust in Vtec. The exhaust and bumper is absolutely covered in black. I dont hit Vtec to much in the RSX, based on the fact that... well.... personally, it is dirt slow compared to the GSR so it is just boring. The car has about 115k on it and the guy I bought it from said it burns about a quart every thousand miles or so. Well....he lied. I put two quarts in every 2-3 weeks. It does not burn anything at idle (that I can see or smell) and I dont see anything just cruising down the road when looking through my rear view mirror. I know it doesn't leak as well. There is obviously a huge issue somewhere internally......bad rings? Thoughts? Anyone else have this issue? Im to the point that I want to dump the car and move on to something else.....I truly regret selling my GSR now.... :-(

^^ Yup, do a compression test and see how the numbers look.

Also I fail to see how an RSX-S is "dirt slow" compared to a GSR considering it has 30 more bhp and more torque..

My GSR feels much more fun than my Type-S too
BTW, what are the good compression numbers for a k20a2 motor?

for a normal compression test the numbers should be within 10 percent of each other in each cylinder. from what i read a good compression test for this motor depending on the mileage and age should render within the 185-195 psi range.

I was thinking more of 250-270 on a fresh motor.
My B18C had 240 across.
Or am I dreaming?

like i said, depending on the mileage and age of the motor. a fresh motor, yes i could see that.

I don't know if it would help or not but you may try the mobil 1 high mileage oil or a slightly thicker viscosity. My buddy said he noticed a difference using the high mileage synthetic.
