hey all,
please go easy on me....this is my first post I'm one of the few guys still hanging onto a 1987 Honda CRX Si. Nice little go cart...easy on gas, and zippy handling. But the serious design flaw is that they made the fenders out of crappy plastic that gets brittle and cracks with age. Mine are surviving, but I don't know for how long. They're being held together by some 3M "8115" epoxy (I think that is what the bodyshop told me when they repaired fender cracks a while back. I think he took them off and coated the entire underside of both fenders with this stuff). I've asked several Honda shops and searched the internet and it appears no one carries these fenders. Is there anyone on this forum with any other strategies for prolonging these brittle fenders?....or for finding new ones? Seems to me that the car clubs with the old cars from the 1920s must have some way of creating custom fitting parts. By the way, if you're curious, this is my car:

I have a local parts place that carries them. You just need to check with your local body parts shop.

 

ok, thanks for that. I have checked with a few local bodyshops and they say that can't find the fenders. I checked with Andy's Auto Sport and they said no dice. Certifit said the same. I will check with RedPepper site. In the mean time, CRX Toad, I'd love to get the name or phone number of your local body shop, in case I come up empty handed. I'm in atlanta but occasionally travel north and could swing thru north carolina if need be. Thanks.

Check eBay. Reproduction fenders are available for less than $100 each and they fit pretty well. Be sure to slather a good amount of fiberglas on the inside of the fenders to give them longer life.

 

Also check Craigslist. Just saw a new in the box aftermarket fender for 1st gen CRX on Tulsa's Craigslist for $100. They're out there.

 

How about a hood? my hood is beat to hell and I'd prefer a fiberglass/CF one if they ever made one. Know where to find?

I’m still new to the car scene so to me they’re a little spendy but I found these fiberglass ones for around $300
