Default Spring Rates - kg/mm to pounds

I have a set of Skunk2 basic coilovers on my 89 Civic hatch which the website says are 8kg/mm front and 6kg/mm rear. Although I like the stiffness, I want a little less for my 93 Del Sol and am going to get a GC/Koni combo from a sponsor here.

I tried converting KG to pounds on the WEB but 8kg = 17.63 pounds and need to know how to include the 'mm' portion into the formula since this is obviously not the correct number.

Thanks!

to do kg/mm to in/lb just take the spring rate (in kg/mm) and multiply it by 55.88!

so your 8kg/mm springs are 447.04 lbs/in. i assumed theres 2.2lbs in 1kg and 2.54cm in 1in (not 100% accurate but pretty close)

Xkg * (2.2lbs / 1kg) = (your springs in kg)*2.2lbs
1mm * (1cm / 10mm) * (1in / 2.54cm) = 1/25.4 in

so lbs/in = 2.2 / (1/25.4) = 55.88

edit: so to convert from lb/in to kg/mm just divide by 55.88

6k=350lbs 8k is about 450lbs, 10k=550, and so forth.

Easy way to do it is multiply the K number by 56. 8x56=448lbs.

Type this into google:

8 kg/mm to lb/in

The unit calculator will do it automatically.
