cutoff??
On my friends rsx-s when the car isnt moving, and your in first on the clutch and reving, it cuts off at about 5500-6000 rpm. It doesnt let you rev past 6000. How can you remove this?
I tried searching but found nothing anywhere.

I think that the fuel cut-off engages around 5k(don't remember though) I don't think you could do anything about it until engine-management comes out for it. Even then if you want no rev-limiter you're gonna have to get stronger internals. Why would you want to rev the car to 6k?
A decent launch is at about 3500.

So there is no way of removing that 5500 limiter while the car isnt moving?

Hold on a minute guy, launch at 6k? You're pretty brave. Try 3500 with lower tire pressure(on stock rubber) and all the extra stuff(spare, sub, backseat, etc.) out of the car. You'll be pretty impressed. Some people have been posting mid 14 time slips but I'll believe it when I see it.
I think the only way your going to get it changed is to have Hondata do it.
The ECU controls it by lack of signal from the VSS. You could develop a fake VSS signal so the the ECU thinks th car is going faster than 15 MPH. My auto cross only car uses that method, as long as the clutch is depressed theres no VSS signal. When the clutch is released the Fake VSS tells the ECU to let the VTEC go to work.
Of course you need lots of traction to launch at 5200, but it works well on my car on Topeka concrete.
